    Hi All,

Sorry if this has been discussed previously or if I should've posted in Limerick mans thread, but I just have a question and I know the answer can be "how long is a piece of string" ....but ...

How much percentage wise should you reasonably expect a dealer to drop the price by, say an 08 Ford Mondeo for 13,950 would you just expect the 950 off for a cash deal or say 10%, also is it worth while bargaining some extras? a service at 1 year or something like that?

    Thanks in advance,

If the sticker price is €13,950 he will easily take €13,000 notes from you. Your problem is you need to start the bidding at about 12,000 and work up, don't start at €13,000 or you will end up having to meet him half way. Not many people will be buying straight in this climate and from the dealers point of view his profit is there in front of him with no other work to do for it as regards a trade in. If it's a Ford main dealer maybe ask about getting a service thrown in but if it was me I would instead look for 12 months warrenty instead. If it's a 2008 petrol he will be dying to get rid of it, if it's a diesel he may hold on for the right buyer.
