I just saw this in the latest lidl offers and thought it would be good for the music festivals etc, seems pretty good for less than 50 euro, but was just wondering the legality of this statement:
    • Simple to use, easy to transport
    • Flushing function with solid hand pump
    • With valve for sprayfree emptying
    • Waste tank with handles & swivel waste port
    • Size: 38 x 41 x 42cm
    • Weight: 3.5kg
    • Includes 150ml flushing & solid waste solutions
    • Unfortunately we cannot accept returns for this product
    • Rinsing water tank 15L
    • Waste water tank 12L

What if it was defective or something? Also has anyone ever used these devices and are they worth it ?

They probably have it written somewhere that, "Your statutory rights are not effected." And everything is fine and hunky dory.

    **** thread, btw.

A flushing function & a hand pump for solids?

& what, pray tell, is swivel waste?

Reassuring that it's simple to use, however.

probably means you can't exchange it if you change your mind about it or find it's crap, it does say three years guarantee so if it breaks you should be okay to get it repaired or exchanged

I'm guessing its similar to other shops not taking returns of underwear or earrings due to hygine reason.

Really, if you were in the market for a chemical or portable toilet, would you like to buy one that someone could have possible taken a sh**e on.

This just applies if you change your mind. They'll still exchange it if faulty as they're obliged to. Argos and other retailers, especially clothes shops, have similar policies.

I'm assuming that they mean returns in the case of a change of mind.

Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected, meaning that if the product is defective, you can bring it back for a repair, replacement or refund.

I purchased a device quite similar to the advertised product myself.

I intended it for use on camping trips and short breaks to isolated areas which I love to partake in.

I was somewhat dubious at first as to the capability of the device , but she disposed of a good rattle of normal dumps with no issues what so ever.

On the final night of a boat trip on the Shannon we stopped inLanesboro' and I regret to say I partook of a particularly rich meal of steak all the trimmings, and afters.

I woke at 0620 hours the following morning and immediately knew there was a ' bad bad rocket in the chamber' and discharge was imminent.

I used the device, and must say I unloaded a log the size of a small leg of lamb, with the same solidity and makeup.

She sat in the chamber like a fcuking alligators head, but after two flushes ...gonzo.

So if the product from LIDL is anywhere close, thumbs up from the Flutther:cool:
