Last week while shaving i noticed a "bump" on my neck. I went to the doctor during the week. Normally i thought an infection of some sort caused neck glands to swell. However she didnt put me on anything other than have me take a full blood count. And also to come back in 2 weeks if it hadnt gone down. I havent had any other symtoms recently. Im worried it might be serious. Has anybody had anything remotely similar happen to them. I just pray im worrying over nothing

No point posting here, Go to a Doctor, If you are not happy with their opinion then get a 2nd one. I would stay away from looking a advise from a boards post.

Not going to give you medical advise - you'll still need to go back to see your GP - but try not to worry. I know it's easy to automatically jump to the worst case scenario. There are loads of things that cause enlarged lymph nodes, most of them settle down on their own. You can get enlarged lymph nodes from infection without having much in the way of other symptoms like sore throat or such. However, it's something to get checked out, particularly if, like your GP said, it's persisting or getting bigger. It'll probably still not be serious but it's better to set your mind at ease in the long run.
