best value laptop i3 or i5

hey lads,

looking to get a laptop at a decent price, i have a 550 budget.

anyone seen any decent prices?

im not interested in hp have now and it has the overheating problem so i wont buy a hp again.

i checked pc world and argos today.. both seemed around 700ish mark for anything close to the spec on those lenova laptops..

it was around 550euro at the cheapest elsewhere.. there was a boards thread where 3-4 people confirmed them as cheap and reliable though delivery takes a while (it said to me it will arrive thursday-saturday)

the pound price converts to around the same considering dabs had 14euro delivery charge...

if you wait a few days ill give you my input on it when it arrives.. though to be honest i am sure ill be happy..
its the cheapest lappy with a i5 processor i can find anywhere by far.. and after looking around i was gonna go with an i3 or i5... so just went with this.
imo anything over 2Gb ram is grand (this has 3gb) unless you are a hardcore gamer with windows 7...
the only drawback there is the harddrive might be a bit slow...though i cant see how it will be an issue for me anyway since most of my stuff is on externals... 500gb is more than enough for a laptop...

also saw a comment on some german forum when translated saying max battery life is 4.5hours... so if thats right, then i wont have any complaints about it for the price.

Just FYI it isn't. i3-370M is Westmere so it's still 1st gen Core i.

Second gen Core i (or Sany Bridge) mobile processors all begin with a 2 - eg i3-2310M, i5-2410M etc.

They're faster clock-per-clock and the Sandy Bridge integrated graphics are now actually better (more powerful while using less power) than some of the low-end discrete cards.

Fair bit of performance for the money in the first one of them to be fair. The trackpad in last year G560 range was terrible though, hopefully the G570 is a big improvement. Given the specs, i hope so
