    replace rocker gasket, vacuum pump, solenoid oil seals, oil cover cap,all for a bmw model318ti se compact i need this work done what would someone charge to do this for me

    That was a genuine answer. Seriously it was just another option for him. I've learned alot from the one I have and tackeled jobs I never taught were possible. This is the DIY forum, so be prepared to get your hands dirty on entry :P.

    ;) All joking aside, I would highly recommend the haynes manual, it's a great sense of accomplishment getting one over on main dealers by doing your own work

    Well, about 15-20% of threads in here are people looking to do stuff themselves. The other 80-85% are people looking for other people to do the work, or asking questions about which Mechanic they should go to. This forum's in trouble IMHO.
