I'm moving to Canada in May and unfortunately I'm selling my beloved 156. I'm going to be on a very tight budget of around $2000 possibly even less for a car. I'm just trying to get something interesting but cheap and reliable. As the models over there are so different I dont really know what to get so have the boardsies any suggestions.

I was looking at stuff like Volvo 850 T5s and that but they are rare and over budget. An oldsmobile Intrigue then peaked my interest. An ultra comfortable 3.8 litre V6 barge with high spec is always appealing.

Throw any suggestions you want out there.

yeah you're thinking along the right lines there. I had a look there and the prices were optimistic to say the least. $6400 for a 1993 estate! $2950 for a saloon one though.

A few more suggestions, anyone?

That Milenia is a xedos9 alright.
Not sure about the other one.

You'd see the odd one of them over here, 2.0s though.

If I was in Canada no way would I be buying a V6 fwd jap yoke. Some ole rwd V8 thing that was straight enough and not leaking anything would be on the search list. Can't find anything for you in budget though OP :pac:

I wouldnt worry about the 300k
I have a 1.3 civic as well that I let my son drive..It has 220k kms on the clock..Not a drop of oil burned in 12 months and 8k kilometers..
Why would a 3.0 V6 honda engine be bad with 80k more on the clock?
why run away from an Auto?
Especially in Canada

One must remember fuel in Canada isn't as cheap as in the USA. Fuel there is approaching close to CAD$1.35 / litre (about €1 / litre)

Theres got to be something wrong with that. Price seems very low considering the mileage isnt that high. Nice car though. I dont know would i trust a Chrysler.

very dull and borying those automatics wouldn't go near one ever. did drive them before but twould be hard not to fall asleep at the wheel

No, but it was sold in Japan as the Mazda Sentia and Efini MS-9 so there may have been some imports. It was the last of the RWD Mazda saloons.

Its quite a long way out of my price range unfortunately. Maybe when i have a job sorted though. I'm looking at some awful lumps of **** but the lower the price the better. Never thought i'd be considering a 1993 Dodge Dakota or 1994 Toyoate 4-runner.

We had loads of trouble buying a van in Toronto.. Amount of paperwork needed as the dealer has to bring you to reregister the vehicle at the DMV place.. You have to have insurance to register the vehicle!! We had to do a little document shuffling and a bit of charming the old one over the counter to get the keys!!

Ended up with this!!

Was left it in the car park in Vancouver airport keys under the seat if anyone is interested!

Thats pretty cool i must say! I'd like something like that as i plan on doing some road trips. What kind of paper work was involved?
