Its that time of year when the grant form comes for renewing which is really simple fill it in and away you go. However my father lost his job middle of last year and my mothers hours have been reduced, I've worked it out and I should now be entitled to the top up grant.

Question is do I have to reapply again, there doesn't seem to be anything on the grant renewl about change of circumstances if those changes are negative

contact them and ask for a change of circumstance application and they will send you a form to fill in with new details etc and they will then re-assess your situation.

Im wouldnt hold your breath on getting the top up tbh. I thought i would be entitled to it last year as my dad had been out of work for 8 months and my mum has been on illness for the past 4 years. Appealed it twice with change of circumstances and both times they said my dad had to be on jobseekers for 12 months before dec 31st of the previous year
Theres a page at the back of the form for extra info though you should explain your circumstances there aswell though!
