Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure where to put it.

Note: I am not seeking medical advice, just want to know if anyone has heard of this happening of if people know whether it's possible.

If you break/fracture a bone, does swelling and bruising always occur?

I hurt my foot playing football yesterday. It was very painful at first, but it got a little better after a while. I could walk on it OK. It is still painful though, and I couldn't sleep last night due to it. Anytime I moved it, it hurt. It's not excruciating or anything, it's just painful (I would say 7/10 painwise - not unbearable but still unpleasant). However there is no swelling and it's not bruised. It looks just like my other foot. It does hurt to touch and I can bend my toes a little bothways but again, it's not comfortable.

Is it possible to fracture a bone without resulting swelling/bruising?
