noticed a good few people on here have grass budgeting figures avaible.

as of last monday growth has just met demand of 66kg/ha
currently on 4kg dm maize and 1kg meal which will end tomorrow, and about a third og the herd will be feed 2kg nut, heifers and thin cows

    farm cover 642
    cover/lu 127
    5.1 lu/ha
growth 66kg/ha for the week gone by

going by the wedge we are running on target, will see how it goes when the maize comes out, might have to feed a bit more meal later on.
    started bulling today.

need growth rate in excess of 85kg/day to cut out all feed

not for the last few years now, prefare to buy it, at least that way i am paying for what i get, pay by the ton weighed into the pit at certain quality criteria. nasty cheque to hand over though.

Saves land though, I'm guessing price is governed by price of barley on the day. A lot of ppl round here have stopped growing it too.
