Might be a stupid question but then again there's no such thing eh?

I've always wondered about golf coaches in particular professional players coaches, How are they not professional golfers themselves?

I mean take tiger woods coach for example, He coaches tiger woods on golf he tells him what to do what he's doing wrong and how to improve, So if he's doing this would he not be an exceptional golfer himself?

Is it down to god given talent, Natural ability or what?

Well it's kind of a silly question but only because the answer is pretty complex.

For one all swings are different so Sean Foley dose not have one swing that he teaches everyone. What a coach dose if works with many different variables to achieve what he can and get the best out of the golfer. Some times the methods and philosophies differ from coach to coach. But really a good coach is able to work with whatever ability a student has ..

This means that most coaches rather than having a super swing that they can teach, they have the ability to make a swing work and be able to get the best out of their students.

I would say no matter what you hear golf is not taught but learned..

Also golf is a multifaceted game a savage swing is not all you need ..

Bobby Jones said "Competitive golf is played mainly on a five-and-a-half-inch course, the space between your ears."
