I have installed Windows 7 on my desktop, now the default display settings are 1280*1024, my tv that i use as a monitor was working at 1024*768, so i changed the default settings to these but still no joy,
it's saying 'out of range'. the refresh rate is 60Hz and it's a 15pin VGA connection. Any help/advice. thanks

I'm almost certain that no standard definition TV can support resolutions higher than 1024x768.

If it's a HD-TV then navigate to your graphics card control panel (Catalyst Control Centre for ATI cards, or the nVidia Control Panel) and make sure that the software has correctly identified the connector that you're using. If it hasn't, change it to the proper one. :)

    1388 x 768 is normal for many widescreen TV's

but out of range means either resolution is too high and/or refresh rate is probably too high

    check the specifications online

It worked fine on XP at 60Hz and 1080*768, i put them settings in Win7 but it's not displaying picture, even 800*600 isn't dispalying, the native resolution of the TV is 1388*768

Can you not just change to the same resolution and colours settings as when you had XP running on it.. And have you tried turning off that stupid Aero setting.. That caused issues for some of my software when I upgraded from XP..

I had done that and turned Aero off, still no joy :(
