Skype and voice mail on a Mac

I have recently upgraded all my computers to Macs to get away from Windows issues, and I now have Skype for Mac on them (5.1). I can receive voice mails without any problems, but I can't find any way of SENDING them. The Skype help pages seem to be only concerned with how to set up a welcome message. I have universal (paid) access.

I have Parallels desktop running Windows XP, but I don't really want to run that every time I use Skype since that is a several times a day exercise in my business.

Anyone found out how to do this?

Any answers that solve the problem will be rewarded by ten Ave Marias and twenty brownie points:)

In theory you can leave voicemail for anyone by right clicking on their name and selecting "Leave Voicemail". In practice, it's "greyed out" for me, so I'm not so sure!

Thanks. Trouble is, it doesn't even give me a voicemail option, even though I have a paid subscription.

    Mine looks like this:-

    Skype version 2.8.0.866

The greyed out voicemail doesn't appear on mine! I have been rendered dumb. People can talk to me but I can't talk to them.

I give up. Skype is good, but it is far from perfect, and the support site is useless IMHO!

Possibly a downgrade will solve the problem if version 2.8.0.866 has the option.

Yup. That works! I wonder why the facility was discontinued in version 5? Must avoid letting Skype load updates from now on!

    Anyway, thanks for the advice!

Maybe to save space, the new install is half the size of the older one :)

Good to see this sorted the problem.
