has nothin to do with dance music but, bein a vinyl lover myself i commend this lad for the work he's put in and also feel a bit sad for him at the same time because of what newer music formats have done to his collection.

Estimated value = 50 Million dollars

Current asking price = 3.... with no serious offers.

You'd have to think some kind of museum would be interested in this, but then again a music museum (if such a thing exists) would probably have 80-90% of it, and probably not worth the money for the rest.

    Is that not a contradiction?
Maybe each record sold separately might make 50 million, but splashing a couple of million on something like this would be one of the worst ideas ever unless you had a couple more million under your mattress.

Is there no music archive / museum that would have any interest in this?

It's a shame if it can't be relocated or taken over by a museum or some other body. Not just as a tribute to vinyl but as a record of past music over many years.

It's quite sad but I'd imagine all of his collection is archived in other museums already.

He's probably better off selling all the really expensive items and then just donating the rest to a museum as I can't see him selling it all in one go, and certainly not for his asking price.
