Personally i would let him rest for the night and if hes still lame in the morning then make an appointment.
Unless the pup is in severe pain with it then theres no need to rush off straight away.
If you have a crate then just crate him for the evening with toilet breaks etc but no off lead running.

Is he putting weight on it?
The only thing that would concern me about a hind leg is the cruciate ligament and its a common injury in rotties so lots of rest tonight and vets tomorrow if no improvement.

Take some pics of the leg on your phone - that way if there's any swelling or anything changes you can compare it to how it looks now. My guy had an operation on his leg last year so I'm a self proclaimed expert on how to rest a leg lol. When he hurt himself in dec (6 weeks post op) I started taking pics of the leg everyday to track any changes - I have 100s! I'd let him rest up wouldn't let him go nuts jumping around or playing until he's stable on the leg with no limping and if your on walks keep him on the lead. If there's any swelling or he stops bearing weight or shows any sign of being in pain then straight to the vets.

he had a sleep and i took him out there to go to the toliet and he seems fine he is putting weight on it and tottering around as normal.there appears to be no swelling and hes fine about letting me touch it.Ill still make sure he rests untill the morning just to be on the safe side
