I think i know what u are talking about.... as one of my cars is a 98 corsa...

if I am correct it where the sensor plugs into the engine block..... (oil pressure swtich)
very very common fault.... main dealer part is around €20 iirc

Upload your photo to a flickr account, or something similar and then post it up. You can't just post it from your computer.

What color is the fluid that's leaking out? If it's red it's powersteering fluid. Black/brown it's motor oil. If it's watery it's your radiator.

If it smells really strong it could be gearbox oil.

    Yes you can.

When you create a new post, down the bottom is a button for manage attachments that you can use to upload pictures etc.

If you want, once you've attached the image you can right click on the link, copy address and past it into the IMG field.

My point was that you can't just post a link to your C:\ drive!

    Anyway, the OP is sorted.

That is a leak coming down the side of the engine over the gearbox bell housing so its likely to be a rocker cover gasket of somthing, Impossible to tell where its coming from as the pics are just of where its ending up.

Do you think i would be a big job that would cost me loads?

Rocker cover gasket wouldn't be expensive but they can also leak from the head gasket and chain housing gasket, both of those would be alot more expensive to sort.

Had my head gasket replaced about 1 year ago so wouldnt think that was it, sorry for all the questions but if it was the rocker cover gasket is it something that i could replace myself, if i got one form the scrape yard?

May not be the rocker cover.

Could be the rear main oil seal which is a big enough job. Best give it to a mechanic to have a look as oil leaks can be hard to determine exactly where its from.

Clean the area with some rags and keep an eye on it and see if you can see any oil seeping out from anywhere.

    Hi,

You may have got you problem fixed already but just in case..
I have an Astra 1.2 (so it's a corsa engine). This is a very (very) common problem on carsas. Its a leak in the sump gasket. Unless the think is pissin out I wouldnt bother fixing it. Fix it if the gear box goes.. otherwise its not worth your while. Just keep topping her up with oil and get to know the rate at which its coming out. dont forget to top it up or the engine will overheat and then its bye bye car. If you really want to fix it it will cost you about 800 in labour and you may as well get the gear box done at the same time. my car has had the same leak for about 40000 miles now.

I would wash the engine so you can see exactly where the oil is coming from.
