So let me get this straight; when you get into a band all you need to think about is money and constant self-promotion, so that hopefully one day we'll be signed by some record company. Is that it?

Lads there no point in replying to any of your comment's, as i could nt be arsed wasting my time answering stupid questions, you have the details of the gig, Im not here to have a running commentary with you or respond to childish comments from people hiding behind a computer who have nothing better than to take there anger out ''throwing the toys out of the pram'' on my night when they've never even been to it, your more than likely just pissed off because your band is so **** it will never get anywhere.

You have to be realistic lads if it wasn't for promoters most bands wouldn't be getting regular gigs. I play in a punk band myself and i contact promoters all the time looking for gigs as we like to play as many gigs as possible to get our name out there and its working well. You cant just wait for things to happen, really hard to make it these days, so you have to do all the promoting yourself, playing lots of gigs is the best way to get your name out there, anyways thats how we do it, I really dont no whats your problem with this night is, no one is forcing you to play.

If you dont want to play, thats fine with me i could nt give a ****. You can see that is is a NOT A SCAM and is a well run night by all the nice comments by bands that have played previous at our previous gig, just check out our facebook page for this evidence. www.facebook.com/liveandunsigneddublin

Thats all i have to say, ill only respond to real questions, also for the big girls hiding behind there computers who want to leave more abusive comments, come see me in person I'd be delighted to meet you!!

Thanks for your offer to answer questions...
1-Do the 10 fans bands are required to bring have to pay for admission?
2-Do you or anyone associated with Live and Unsigned Dublin make money from any of the events?
3-How much does the promoter pay the bands?
4-What are the names of the Judges?
5-Are you associated with or affranchised with Live and Unsigned UK Limited, with registered offices at 36 Lumsden Ave,Southhampton?
    6-Define "making it"

I think the reason you have got a poor reception here is because the majority of bands and users on the Punk subforum are not motivated by what the Irish music industry considers "success"....it seems Punk in Ireland is largely DIY and not commercially motivated...my perception from your posts and the facebook link is that Live and Unsigned is possibly a commercial venture....I also believe that for the most part Punks are not interested in "Battle of the Band" type events....you have perhaps chosen the wrong subforum and may currently be seen by users here to be promoting your events and band 24 Broken Amps in an unwelcome manner... you are free to launch any legal venture you wish but it might help on this particular subforum if you could let us know if the "Live and Unsigned" Punk Night is primarily a commercial venture or is being promoted from altruistic motives for the betterment of those bands who might choose to participate?

We in Honey Badger frequently express strong opinions in private on other bands music but we would not suggest on a public forum that it is "****"...any musicians who go to the effort of forming a band, then producing original material and attempting to express themselves musically in any manner in any genre no matter how inept deserves respect for their efforts...it seems to me you are showing a degree of contempt for the very people you purport to promote, bands and musicians, when you suggest their efforts are "****"

Finally, could you also clarify the intention behind your expressed wish to meet "the big girls" in person?

Ok I'm cancelling the competition this Punk Battle of the bands on 9th of June as could nt listen to this drama anymore but I'll answer these questions anyways but wont be answering anymore after this.

1.yes the fans have to pay €6 in, just like most gigs in Dublin that go on every weekend. People pay in to most gigs that are nt even battle of the bands with no prizes for the best bands so not as much out going costs as we have. Most battle of the bands dont do gigs as regular as us, 99% of them never give the prize on the first night the bands play so i like to think we alot different than most other battle of the bands- i dont even call it a battle of the bands, its basically a regular night where lots of bands play and the best band on the night gets a decent prize, it s as simple as that.

-Do you or anyone associated with Live and Unsigned Dublin make money from any of the events?

Yes most gigs we do but there has been ones in the past where we've lost money and broke even lots of times, really depends on the night.

3-How much does the promoter pay the bands?
Its a competition, have you ever entered a competition before where they payed you to enter? i dont text in Phantom FM an answer to a competition question and expect them give me money back just for entering!!!

4-What are the names of the Judges?
    1. Punk/Metal Producer Micheal Richards from Trackmix Studio http://www.facebook.com/trackmixstudio?ref=ts
    2.Me and Anto- organisers
3.Steven the sound engineer from the Pint Bar who i know very well from doing about 50 nights with him at this stage is also included in the decision
4.and depending on the night we always have other judges coming in aswell

5-Are you associated with or affranchised with Live and Unsigned UK Limited, with registered offices at 36 Lumsden Ave,Southhampton?

No we ve nothing to do with them

    6-Define "making it"
Getting to a place in the music industry where you are happy and feel you reached some goals

''if you could let us know if the "Live and Unsigned" Punk Night is primarily a commercial venture or is being promoted from altruistic motives for the betterment of those bands who might choose to participate?''

The night is for both, it helps the bands get noticed, play more gigs and heard by a new and wider audience and also we are happy to make a few quid for organising the whole the night- to me i really dont see what the big deal is, your friends/fans are going to have to pay in to see you some day anyways so i really dont see anything wrong with us charging €6 in, does it really keep you awake at night if we make some money out of it.

Its takes alot of time and hard work putting on all these nights together regularly so that they run well and everyone is happy- were trying to make something of ourselfs because we cant get a job anywhere else so give us fuc"in a break. i would say 100's of bands play every week where people pay in to see them and they never get a penny for it at least we give the best band on a the night decent prize for there hard work.

''We in Honey Badger frequently express strong opinions in private on other bands music but we would not suggest on a public forum that it is "****"...any musicians who go to the effort of forming a band, then producing original material and attempting to express themselves musically in any manner in any genre no matter how inept deserves respect for their efforts...it seems to me you are showing a degree of contempt for the very people you purport to promote, bands and musicians, when you suggest their efforts are "****" ''

Listen i never said anyone/band in particular was ****, i just said that in experience the bands that are normally giving out on boards.ie are the **** ones, that all!!

Finally, could you also clarify the intention behind your expressed wish to meet "the big girls" in person?[/QUOTE]

Well its like this, if somebody wants to slander me or my night with no evidence at all ie. never attended the night or met me in person, I'd prefer if they stopped being a pussey and come say it to my face!!
