Ford Galaxy fault code reader - parking sensor problem.

We have a 2007 Mk.3 Galaxy with a fault on the parking sensors. The fault tone is emitted from the rear sounder, so I assume it is a fault back there. I have:

    - swapped over a front sensor to the rear, moving through all four one-at-a-time
    - Checked the resistance of all sensors
    - Checked that power is available at the rear loom
    - Checked every wire in the loom that runs along the back bumper

I can find no fault. :(

In the past, I have used VAG-Com to diagnose similar faults (including sounder faults) but I'm sure this will not work on the Ford.

Does anyone know any other avenues? Is there software that can read all Ford fault codes (not just engine codes)?

I'd imagine Ford themselves would look for silly money to do this.

Sorry what fault tone, there is a fault tone or not?

Im going to guess that was a typing error so maybe you mean there is no sound emitting from rear sounder? Like when you put it in reverse there is no beeping sound? Check have you reverse lights, it could be the reverse light switch if that has something to do with the parking sensor, failing that there could be a switch in with the gear stick and it could be faulty.

When the car is put in reverse (or was previously reversed) a fixed, continuous tone sounds from the rear parking assist sounder for around 3 seconds and the button on the dashboard flashes. This is telling the driver that there is a fault.

    The front sensors work fine.

    It's not the reversing switch.

Their could be a switch located down in the gear stick area. I'd say only a Ford IDS will be able to read that kind of fault code.
