I am planning a hoilday this summer but I don't know where to go. I have being in Malaga, Lanzarote, Murcia. I am a person who wouldn't stay on a beach all day. People have said Turkey is a good place. Has anyone being and what part would be best to go for a bit of everything.

Go to kusadasi. Yes its a bit touristy but its a good base and is less in you face than the more british-orientated spots down the coast. Check prices for the sea pearl, palmin hotel or palmin sunset plaza. I stayed at the sea pearl and have no complaints. They're sister hotels and have very much the same activities except the latter two above are more strict re. food in rooms, less of a family atmosphere. Kusadasi itself has lots to do- shopping, great restaurants. Lovely port area and parts of the town. The difference in Turkey to other places you have listed is that yyou can get a real sense of local life very easily. The fruit/food market in kusadasi on fridays is a great experience for example. Even though you dont like being on a beach all day, i'd recommend a trip on a local dolmus bus to dilek national park- breathtaking beaches. One of the best things i've ever done is visit the ancient city of ephesus which is a few mins away- do it yourself or book a tour, similar pricing. Also, the city of Izmir is quite reachable- this offers a real turkish experience of winding streets, markets etc.
Sorry for rambling, but i strongly recommend it.
