Woundering can someone help out, the VSA unit is gone in my car, need to get it replaced. because its over the 60,000mile warrenty give by honda, i have to fork out around €1500 to get a new one.

looking at getting a second hand one, the serial number on mine is 57110-sef-e610

my question is, does it have to be the exact serial number again or are there different serial numbers that will suit???

Thanks for that, but they dont post to Ireland. i contacted honda direct and they said it has to be the exact serial number thats on my VSA unit. So it has to match the serial number above.

anyone no of any good dismantlers?? or second hand part dealers??

Which botton did u turn off? where about is it??

If this is a problem with all accords, then its not good enough coming from honda, it cost about €1500 to replace it with a new one. Only had the car months and it went...

I know a fella with the same problem and was also quoted 1500 to fix He was told the faulty part was made by bosch and only affects diesel models. If i remember right it affected models from 04 to 07 but stand to be corrected. Like the other poster he just switched it off. Total bullsh1t that they wont come to atleast 50/50 agreement for honda drivers as this is a known fault

Ya its not good enough, Mine is a uk import and honda ireland wont look at me which i can agree with, honda uk said they will give me 20% off the price of a new unit but it has to be done in a northern ireland dealer. I got a price for them to do it and with the exchange rate there's about €400 less in the difference. still making it €1100 to get it changed.

i dont find a difference when i drive the car, just when you might brake hard you can feel a shake in the steering wheel.

turning off the warning light?? where is this switch?

not having the ABS does this make a safety difference???

i have an 04 diesel accord and the switch is just above the comaprtment where you chuck ure loose money in, beside the ignition. It says "VSA off" on it :)

Ive found no difference at all, then again i dont drive it very hard :)

try this crowd in the UK. They will remanufacture your own unit.

you'd have to ring for a price
I have used them before(nissan micra trottle body)

Cheers for that, i tried that switch alright but it does nothing, the VSA warning light still is displayed on the screen when i press the switch? Is there any other way to switch the warning symbol off??

Ive a friend who had the same problem and he just took out the dash and put a piece of black tape over the bulb that highlights the VSA, put back on the dash and job done. The VSA is a safety device but im not sure if it is essential in the vehicle in terms of the general usage

    regards

    :)
