As the title suggests a couple very close to us are heading to Oz indefinately in the next few weeks and I'm going mad trying to think of a nice departing gift for them..

We're already planning to put some Ozzy dollars in a card for them but I want something a bit more personal that they can take with them which will be either a keepsake or something practical that they can use on their travels..

They are going to settle and live as opposed to backpacking.. they have 3 small children..

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers :)

some friends moved last Dec just before christmas, similiar as your friends - 3 kids going to settle down there. I got them a token pressie with money in a card too. It was a christmas tree type decoration in Meadows & Byrne (don't where you located) which was 4 sided and each side had a different celtic type symbol on it. M&B have them year all the round and probably other crafty type shops/tourist shops have them too. you don't want to be getting them anything too big or bulky or even too oirish.

another time I got my 3 nieces cladagh rings as a present when leaving to go to Canada.
