    have you tried doing a reset? Hold down the the home key and the lock key(at top of phone) at the same time for about 15 seconds. Feels like an ages, so count it out to be sure

    Have you tried a hard reset, press and hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the silver apple logo appears, it's possible one of your apps has crashed and jammed the phone.

    The second option is to restore the phone via DFU mode, only problem this will restore the phone to factory settings and if you do not have a backup/recent sync any recent updates will be lost.

    To do this;

    Connect the phone to itunes
    Press and hold home and power buttons for 10 secs
    Release the power button, keep pressing home button
    iTunes should display a message about recovery mode
    Follow the rest of the steps on screen and the phone will be restored to factory settings but without any of your own data
    Resync
