I was told if I replace my radiator valves it would be the best way to use my boiler to heat water. So after have a quick look about it looks like I can buy them on-line but they are 15mm UK one. Will these be ok to put on the 3/4inch rads and pipes?

7 valves for 70stg seemed like a much better price than in the shops here

I'm sure your existing radiator tails are 1/2" which equates to 14.7mm. If you swap out the 15mm olives for 1/2" (14.7mm) olives you shouldn't have any problems using the metric fitting. I did this in my own house some years ago. The 15mm olives will come in handy if you're ever fitting a new kitchen mixer as they tend to come with 15mm copper tails too.

    This is slightly confusing.

The 15mm radiator valves in the uk might not be designed to come on and off constantly. You should really be using something like matchmaster which has brass inserts in the valves OR a TRV. You will buy TRV'S quite cheap in b&q and all you need to do is change the olives.

I dont understand why you are talking about bath taps and radiator pipes.

What do you mean by on and off constantly

He says in his post he wants to turn the rad on and off. Radiator valves are not designed to be constantly turned on and off. The heads have not got metal inserts in the cheap ones and wear down very quick.
