    Hey there all,

I am a bass or guitar player here (prefer to play bass) with vocals, looking to get a punk band going, mostly doing covers of Irish ballads and American folk songs (Woody Guthrie etc). It doesn't have to be limited to just that though, I'd be comfortable doing punk versions of old Robert Johnson tunes or Bod Dylan tunes, literally anything. Even just just doing punk tunes like SLF etc in general for a while. But I personally think It'd be great to do something like this right now at a time when people are forgetting what being Irish is about (not the recent celtic tiger irish ****e)

Ideally looking to write and record our own stuff though. Think a heavy poguess or an Irish Dropkick Murphy's. I'd love to get it up and running asap with a drummer on board as soon as possible.

Rehearsals would ideally be once/twice a week and a good few gigs here and there around the country. I'd like to give this a full whack as I'm tired of sitting on my hole wanting to be on that stage. Looking at some of the crap that is being dished out left right and centre, i'd like to contribute something worthwhile. Although talent and charisma will play a part in the band, nothing comes before commitment. So if you are even half decent on your instrument but fully commited then that's better than a virtuoso who can't practice 'cause swindon are playing norwhich or some crap like that.

Anyway, hit me up and we'll get this up and running asap.

I'm really excited about this, come on guys. Age is nothign on this one, if you're 16 or 60 give me a bell.

Nice one lads, seems to be a small bit of interest in this. Hoping they will materialise into something good. Anway, just in case, keep the PM's coming.

As I've stated, I will play either guitar or bass so looking for: Drummers, Bass Players, Guitar Players. Hell, if you think an electric violin would sound good, let's get that going too.

How's it going. Are you still looking for guitarist? That project looks like a bit of craic, I'd be interested.

Balls, if only you were in Limerick. I'd love to get a punk folk thing happening, all washtub bass and upturned boxes and ****.

I *could* be interested in this as a guitarist, I presume you want an electric guitarist?

I also play mandolin but mainly bluegrass, willing to dabble though.
