Me and a the buddies are heading down to Schull in West Cork for a few nights in two weeks. We've a house rented and for a decent price too, given it's a long weekend. The plan is to eat well, drink well, and play loads of boardgames. Couple this with a night eating out and a maybe a pint or two in a pub and it looks set to be doog tiems. The Spaniard coming with us was shocked to hear we plan on having a fry every morning, probably why he lost three stone over the past year and we're a bunch of fatties.

I know it's recession time and all that, but if you put your sheckles together, the holiday industry in Ireland is doing good deals to attract business, so a week or weekend away could be possible. Or maybe you've saved for the past few years and still have a few pennies to rub together. So, do you have any holidays planned for the summer months?

    Eat the Spaniard.

Out before everyone takes the piss out of you for playing board games.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Yep I'm going on holiday. But not in Ireland. I consider a holiday as an escape from my normal life in this country and if I went away here I wouldn't feel like I was on holiday.
So for that reason I don't holiday here. Florida here I come!! :D

Holidaying in Ireland can be almost as expensive as going abroad, in the past atleast, but prices are way down now (the recession is good for something!) and theres good deals to be had so Im defo planning to rent a boat on the Shannon for a week/5 days with a group of friends. Should be good craic :)

Other than that, its Spain in June for a hit of sun and hopefully something else at the end of the year, im thinking Korea to visit a friend or possibly a week around Italy/Croatia. Im a travel freak so all spare cash goes on holidays and trips.

Something in between the two. There's loads of boardgames out there, ranging from drinking games, to fantasy based Lord of the Rings like games, to puzzle games and souped up versions of Risk. We play the games, while drinking and getting into a fight over why we're all invading one person's country and ganging up on him.

Aye. We've got the cottage in Schull for three nights and four full days (no early checkout or arrival time) for less than it would cost to stay in a crappy hostel. It'd be even cheaper for us if we had more people coming, as it sleeps six and we have four people going.

People should definitely check out what's going on offer around the country, there's some great deals out there.

California and Vegas on Apr 30th for 11 days, staying in all fancy hotels (such as the Bellagio in Vegas) and doing a skydive while there as well.

    Recession, schmecession.

Life Festival at the end of May's the big one for me. Last year's event was my first small-festival experience, it was completely mental and was quite possibly the most fun weekend of my life.

It may be based in Ireland but it may as well be on another planet.

I've booked the first 2 weeks of August off from work as one of the buddies is off that time too, so we're going go somewhere last minute for a week.

No preference where we go as long as its a break.

I'm just back from Spain, had no intention on lying around in the sun getting fried so I brushed up on my camera work, DSLR and video and took in a bit of advanced google adwords while I was at it.
