Hi, There are 3 of us (26 year old girls) debating between Interrailing and Island hopping off Greece for about 5 weeks in the summer.. If anyone has experienced either or both, which would you recommend? We are just interested in having a nice break for a few weeks, seeing new places, and meeting new people.. Cheers

Well your a year too old for cheaper interrailing tickets, if your 25 years or younger you get a great deal for interrail tickets so I would recommend the island hopping through Greece and Croatia! :)

Thanks, If I go before July 3rd I'll qualify for the cheaper ticket, turn 26 then.. A bit concerned that Island hopping would be just like an extented sun holiday to be honest..

They're two quite different things. Interrailing will show you a variety of cultures, places and stff, while you go from place-to-place. It's not really a relaxing holiday, it's more of an experience.

Island hopping is chilling out in the sun and not doing too much. Personally, 5 weeks of island hopping would bore me to tears, 2 weeks is plenty.

So I would do something like fly to Vienna / Krakow / Milan, and go down either through Italy and Albania or through the Balkans, to Greece, over the course of 3 or 4 weeks, and then relax on the islands for a week or two at the end. Train tickets in those parts of the world are cheap enough that you wouldn't benefit from an Interrail Pass anyway.

Thank you for that advice. I have been trying to persuade the others that would be a good idea. The best of both worlds I guess. Maybe we could agree on that..
