Tax in Denmark?

    Hi,

Myself and some of my work colleagues are moving to Denmark to work for 9 months. We are told by our local HR department that we will still get paid in Ireland and not be liable to pay tax in Denmark, I have found various places online that state after 6 months in Denmark we would have to either leave the country or pay tax that, I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience of this or links or even a company I could ring to find out. I don't mind paying to get advice on this.

Also one of my colleagues is South African so he will have to register in Denmark to get his work visa there, will this mean that he HAS to pay tax in Denmark or can he continue to just pay his tax in Ireland?

Any information on this would be great

9 times out of 10 on secondments your company pays the foreign tax, operates a shadow payroll and you are none the wiser for it.

If there system is anything like the Irish one any possible liability is for the employer to worry about rather than the employee.

More than likely your employment income will be subject to Danish tax as you're exercising duties there for more than 6 months but as Incognito said it's most likely that your employer is going to take whatever hit has to be taken and ensure you receive same net income as you would here.
