PC- Repair MEDION 8386

My PC's motherboard needs to be replaced. It's an ms7091 MSI with VGA & 775 processor, memory is DDR 400mhz 2 X 512 GB. It is a Medion 8386

I am wondering what people would recommended doing... Is this worth fixing? Where is the best place to get a compatible mother board? Physical size could be a problem also as everything fits in very snugly into the casing, so I would need something that will fit.

Any help is appreciated as I don't really know what I'm at!

It giving error beep followed by continuos intermittent beep already replaced memory, and tried graphics card, does not match up to any error codes associated with bios :-(

It's around 6 years old. I would consider replacing the entire thing. Only a matter of time before other parts start failing. You can build a much faster computer for less than €400 (excluding OS).

I google the specs but couldn't find details on the mobo. It's most likely a m-ATX 775 board so this will probably do, but I can't be certain.

I would also at least consider putting more RAM in, 2GB would be optimum.

Thanks sink, don't know too much about this type of thing myself, but know more about it that one of the lads in work, its his computer that's broke so I said I'd try here for him see if anybody could help!

I'll pass on the info!

Don't think he'd be doing anything too intense on it so he could be happy enough just to get it going again as opposed to building a new one.....

It from China, though, so could take a few weeks to get to you.

Looking at that board the Gigabyte one from Dabs should do the job well. Although it only has 2 DIMM slots as opposed to 4 on the MSI board, could be a problem if you have more than 4 sticks of RAM. If you upgrade to 2GB (2X 1GB) of RAM the problem is solved.
