Trading Computer Build If possible under 500

Hi,

I feel the time has come to upgrade my PC. I always like to stay 2-3 years behind the latest technology to get the best value for my cash. So now it is time to upgrade again.

This computer will be specifically for trading.

Things i already have:
Triple 1680x1050 22 LCD Monitors
HD 5450 Eyefinity for driving the three display.
G9x wired mouse

My Current Machine is
Intel Core Duo L2400 @ 1.66GHz and 1GB Ram. This machine is very lean and i feel it already gives decent performance. I would like to up my CPU maybe 3 to 4 times on the CPU benchmark.

So my wants for the new machine:
SSD Drive (only an SSD drive and nothing more (is this viable???)
Quiet enough case
CPU maybe 3 times increase on previous processor with multiple cores
Decent chunk of RAM
Basic DVD drive

So is the above possible for under 500?

Could someone suggest a build at this price level?

It gives food for thought. I certainly like that case that you have recommended. I would just like to ask you a few questions on your choice of specification.

Any particular reason for the Crucial brand? ( i noticed some other brands are cheaper for the same size SSD

Would their be any noticable difference to select an X4 and have quad cores?

Would 450W PSU be suitable for my needs? Is it that the higher wattage PSUs are only benefical for gaming machines?

Crucial has the fastest read speeds of the readily available drives at the moment.

You may gain from using a quad core - I picked three cores to keep costs down. I would assume that you plan on running a lot of programs with three screens. If you were doing a lot of number crunching, four cores would see a big improvement. If you are doing minimal calculations and instead more observing live internet changes, probably not.

That's a low power system, 450W is more than enough. Picking a high wattage PSU does not maximise efficiency. The 450W has pretty good efficiency, but I can pick out better which would be of benefit to a 24-hour computer although the price gets pretty high.

The tricore chip is one of the best value chips at the mo

but if you fancy a quad core with bigger l3 cache then I'd recommend
the AMD 955 black edition - 107 euros on that site - good price
