I am moving my tv from one place to another in my sitting room.
The TV & UPC box is currently on the far side of the room to where the wall point is & now i want to move it to right in front of the UPC wall point.
The thing is i will be left with a substantial length of cable that i dont need & it will look ridicilous.
if i cut the cable myself to the correct length how easy is it to re-attach the silver connector to the cable?
what tools do i need?will i get the connector off easily enough & be able to re-use it?seems pretty well crimped onto the cable as it is...
can you buy lengths of this cable, say 1m or 1.5m with the connectors already on it?

Next time you see a UPC van in your neighbourhood, ask the guy for a 1m TV cable and the little wrench, they give them out no bother when they're installing TV.

The cable you need has a screw-in connector at one end and a plug-in co-ax connector at the other so if you're talking to the UPC guy it's the TV cable you need, the broadband cables have screw-in connectors at both ends which is not what you need. Even without the wrench you'll be able to tighten it pretty well with your fingers but you'll probably need a wrench to take the old cable off the wall box, the van guy should have a bundle of the wrenches, it's just a cheap lump of tin.

If you cut the cable you will need a new f-connector and the relavant tool to connect a new connector.
As said above ask the UPC guy for a Fly-Lead or try your electrical store.
They sell them ready made around 1 metre long
