    Hi im suffering from a seriously fat C/drive which i cant figure out ?
    Basically my C drive size is about 55GB {excluding itunes&download files} & all my personal pictures, work & junk is stored on on a seperate Data drive.

    So basically im at a loose end as to how vista is eating up 50GB of my HDD space ?????? anyone any ideas ?

    Iver tried Spybot/AGV scan
    CC cleaner, saved about 2 gb & spead up system massively
    Did disk defrag & cleanup etc etc
    Also already tried this and saved about 10gb of space -> http://liveslick.com/2007/09/03/is-vista-eating-up-your-hard-drive-space/
    Hibernation is armed and allocated 2GBs (il keep this)

    Anyone got any other ideas where my sace is ???

    or maybe is 50gb about right,

    Software updates, driver updates, security updates, games, software, it all adds up

    c:\system volume information will take about 10% (system restore)

    you may also have a HPA with a restore image

    55GB = a few GB less because OS's say 1GB = 1024x1024x1024 but HDD makers say it's 1000x1000x1000

    get treesize / sequioaview / spacemonger to see what folders the space is used in

    Download WinDirStat, which will give you a nice visual picture of what is taking up space.

    Can you expand on this ? ive tried deleting system restore points with no obvious gains,

    Also just downloaded WINDIRSTAT, looks cool, will go throught results tomorrow, inital thought it appears to be lots of files& programs etc
