    Hey All,
I played my first every golf round in Rathbane.
But i found the Place to be in bits,
The greens were covered in sand,
The tee area was full of holes,
    There was Rubbish everwhere,
There was a Donkey roaming free.(lol)

    But i really enjoyed it,
Many People on this forum warned me to stay away from Golf as it will ruin me and i'd be addicted,i fear ye may have been right, even thou course sucked and i was shocking bad,

    Sean

Not a great course really is it, remember playing there before only to see a Nissan Pathfinder coming down
    the 1st fairway towards us.
It certainly wasnt what i expected to see on the 1st hole tbh.

I had a shotgun going off in the middle of my backswing once :D over in the estate beside the 3rd hole i think. Also had 2 clubs robbed when i was there

That's funny ... played there this morning as well... and that was a horse not a donkey..... did the Rubberbandits not teach you anything!!

on another note I did shoot an 84 which was a personal best...

I think there are some too harsh responses here.

Firstly the greens have just been sanded, which is standard enough at this time of year and is hugely benefitial to them for the coming months. It may take a few weeks to sink in, but in the long run its for the best. They have also been open for the entire winter when other courses rest theirs. Natually they have taken a battering and will need time.

The back tee boxes are in very good nic and dont see an issue with them

In relation to the clubs being robbed, Rathbane is what it is, i.e. right beside southhill! Its not the K club and you should be a small bit more conscious of leaving your clubs unattended.

I cant fault the place for the facility it provides, 18holes for 10-15 eur... how bad!

Yes... payed 9 Euro yesterday booked through teetimes.ie and would agree that you cant get better value than that...

Also to point out that I played this course twice so far and both times arrived on my own and somebody on the first tee would have asked me to join them ...

I played in Rathbane last week and I thought this course was great, despite the very heavy rain the course held up great. One or two holes were closed but that was to be expected with the amount of water that fell. Other than that, the greens and fairways were in great shape. For €16-18 a round, there is nothing to complain about (I will be booking again using teetimes.ie as VikingG informed me!). Cheers VikingG! €15 is a great deal for this course!

Yes, I'm well aware that the original post was 3 years ago, there have been major work done since then and just felt that needed to be said. Handy course for handy money.
