Motor Tax arrears

    My car has been out of use since january, my tax was up in february. i am aboout to get it back on the road. i was going to get the tax renewal form and get a garda to stamp the non-use bit, but i heard today they have done away with this since the last budget
    is this true?

    Ye, I think there was only ever a mention of Gormless thinking about changing it. Luckily he got his just deserts at the election.

    FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

    You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

    Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

    There is a change suggested,but not yet in force.

    If your car is off the road you will get the form filled in advance.It will no longer be possible to do it in retrospect.
