    anyone get a quote for citrus pulp lately? thinking of using it as a carrier for cal mag. summer grazing nuts are available locally for E 240 (15%)

    used citrus before and would really rate it low as a feed. In discussion group a few others commented similarly. Plus make sure its citrus from oranges not lemons or else not very palatible. When barley was cheap i used that as a straight at grass and was way better. But to dear this year

    would the citrus not be unpalatable on its own , would you not mix barley etc with it ?

    very palatable,but i still have to sprinkle calmag on top.ration at 240 is just about economical.

    What kind of spec is the ration for £240.
    Energy, minerals spec etc

    ok @ €237 per tonne , 14% ration.... 30% wheat/ barley, 23% soya hulls , 10% maize distillers, 9% oo rapeseed. 9% wheatfeed, 6.5% palm kernal , 7% molasses 1.5 % veg oil blend.... oil 4.5 , fibre 9.5 , ash 10.5 , me fresh 11.1 , me (dm) 12.8

    just off the phone.14% ration-E240(+calmag).citrus-240!.will only need to feed 1 kg to the cows in this weather if I have enough grass. off to do a measurement.pat

    What dry matter are you using for current second round grass? Cows are flying through it but growth is excellent. Anyone get a price for beet pulp or soya hulls lately? As said already citrus if from lemons is vile, the fumes off it would knock you out.

    15%dm,its second round (young)grass
    170kgs dm available per cow,so i will go with 2kgs.wedge line is still above
    covers on the grass wedge
