    Hi guys,

Some of you will know me from the DCM mentored threads last year. I am starting to help a friend of mine get ready for DCM 2011 while being persuaded to do the same lol...

Basically, is there anyone who has some ready made routes around Malahide???

Looking for basic routes of 5km to 10km as I am looking to have them spend a month doing this to build up their base fitness....

I do not live near Malahide and thus don't know the area.... Any help would be much appreicated guys!

Plenty of options for you here...
    • Malahide castle has a nice trail just inside the perimeter which is about 5 km - grass/trail/small bit of tarmac. Plenty of different routes in there
    • Estuary road (near Seabury) out and back is about 5km too - grass
    • Malaide centre to Portmarnock along the seafront is 7 miles out and back and then you can go onto Portmarnock beach to add in some more if you want.
PM me if you need directions or more advice. Only thing is that its not very hilly but really good for base building and there are always loads out running.

Yes, Malahide castle is ideal for those shorter distances, and the sea-front to Portmarnock is great too.

You can use sites like http://www.gmap-pedometer.com to create routes very easily. Here is a ten mile route I used a good bit around Malahide and Portmarnock, includes the beach at Portmarnock and a bit of Malahide castle.
