Opinion on Price for Service

    Hey guys

Just got a quote from a Ford Main Dealer for a Full service and 2 new front shocks (40% imbalance between them), supplied and fitted for €450.

My initial reaction was that this isn't a bad price, but does anyone else think its a bit much?

Car is an 06 Mondeo, and a quick call to Motor Factors told me the shocks are €85 a piece. With the labour for them and a full service, does €450 seem extortionate?

    Cheers

If they retail at €85 each in a factors the OE ford ones from a main dealer may well be more expensive. Presuming they are not you are getting shocks fitted and a full service for €260. Sounds very reasonable to me as long as it is a full service and not just an oil and oil filter change.

Not extortionate. The shocks must be near 300 fitted so that is not leaving the service very expensive.

Comparing the price of shocks in a motor factors to genuine ford parts is a bit silly IMO.

The price isn't too bad depending on what service they are doing.
