I just recently bought a VW golf, but the radio is old and it includes a taperecorder. It was a long time since i saw one of them aswell.

I was thinking about replacing it with one with iPhone connectivity, and i was just wondering what you thought about Halfords radio offers and how long it would take for them to do the in store fitting?

    Cheers :D

Try the main motors forum. This one's about having a go fitting/installing things yourself.

    Hi OP

Unless halfords offer free fitting you'd be better off doing it your self.

    Its a 2 minute job

Remove the old radio (key's only cost a few euro or it can be done with a few small nails for free but it can take a second 2 get them 2 click in right)
    Remove the old cage
    Fit new cage
Attach wires (you may need a wiring harness for this, cant remember what wiring setup VW's have)
    Plug in aerial
Fit new radio and click into the cage
    Fit face

    Enjoy :D
