Are chargers covered by warranty?

I asked this (in a roundabout way) on the laptop forum, but didn't get an answer. Hopefully someone here will know.

Pretty simple - I bought a MBP refurb last July, charger has died (wiring issue). Can I go to an Apple repair place and get a new one for free because of the one year warranty? Or would I have to have AppleCare?

    Cheers.

Yeah, the charger is covered by the warranty. It seems they'll even replace it outside of warranty. You shouldn't have any problem getting another one.

AppleCare just extends the warranty. It doesn't cover anything that the regular warranty wouldn't.
