    You have two choices:

    1) Walk along the Kylemore Road to Ballyfermot roundabout and catch the 18 from there to the Long Mile Road/Kylemore Road Junction.

    2) Take the 76, 76a, 76b from the Lucan Road/Kylemore Road junction to Ballyfermot and switch to the 18 there.

The walk from the Long Mile Road to Walkinstown Cross would be about 10-15 minutes.

    Use this site :

    http://hittheroad.ie

Its a bit like using the directions feature of the google maps site, except it tells you what bus/dart/walk options to get from A to B around Dublin.
I thought I knew Dublin really well until I started finding great shortcuts and handy bus routes from here. Can be a bit slow, but worth it.

    Usually gives a few options.

76, 76a, 76b from Blanchardstown Village to Ballyfermot (limited service) and then route 18.

Alternatively, routes 38/38a/38b from outside the hospital at Waterville (or 39 from the Village) to College Street and then any of routes 50, 56a, 77 or 77a (or indeed switch to route 19a on O'Connell Street or D'Olier Street).
