No - just sync again and your apps will go over to the new Ipad , On the books just log into the kindle app on the new ipad and they will download.

No, just backup your iPad 1 to your computer and then do a restore to your iPad2 when you get it.

I always prefer starting from fresh with a new device but everyone is different.

that doenst have much to do with transferring books from one ipad to the other.

Does the same apply to access books on the iphone and/or ipad?

Absolutely not. Any purchases, free or otherwise are linked to your account.

No, you'll be grand. Just backup your iPad1 on itunes before selling it and remember to completely reset the iPad so none of your personal data/info is left on it. You can do that from the settings app. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.

Books are held as part of your account. Log in again and they are all there awaiting download. They may equally be synced across multiple machines. You may leave off reading on one and take up at the same spot on another.

I answered the book question in my first post, my 2nd reply was in response to Seamus s post.
