Does anyone know is he still playing? Or what is he doing?

I've wondered this for a while, seems like he just fell off the face of the earth.

I liked him as a player where ever he was, very proffesional, went about his business very well, very under-rated.

    He's at Portsmouth... Right?

    *checks wikipedia*

"Stephen John "Steve" Finnan (born 24 April 1976 in Limerick, Ireland)[1] is an unattached Irish international footballer who plays as a right back. He is currently in talks with Lancaster Rovers."

Hmmm funny. That bit about Lancaster Rovers was only added to Wikipedia an hour ago. I call shenanigans.

Injury ravaged since he left Liverpool I think.

Became a cliche to call him our "unsung hero" and "Mr Reliable" during his time at Anfield. But he really was a great full-back for us.

I checked Wikipedia yesterday they had Portsmouth as his last club:confused:

Was an excellent player for Ireland too, 1 of only 5 Irish players to win a Champions League Medal!

Finnan, O'Shea, Keane, Irwin and who else?

Under all formats, Lawreson and Whelan can be added to that. Any Irish players in Busby's United side or the Lisbon Lions?

No, he has one alright, claims he keeps it in the bottom of his sock drawer and it means nothing to him.

I can't believe you are asking this, it's well known that all the Celtic players at that time were all born in Glasgow

Was gonna start a thread on this a few weeks ago.

From what i've read, after he signed for Porthmouth last year & played a stormer of a season he was let go due to them being relegated & the finacial trouble they got into.

His last game was the FA cup final which they lost.

I've been shocked tho that no newly promoted side showed any interest in him, nevermind a mid table team with experiance he has.

Was a joke he was let go from pool when he did.
Well I support United, so could'nt care less about Liverpool, He was an excellent player for Ireland, I'll mostly remember him for the pass that lead to Jason McAteer's goal V Holland in Lansdowne Road.

I'm surprised aswel that no championship club has snapped him up, just look at Ian Harte and Steve Carr both brought back from the wilderness and both have been brilliant in the last few seasons.

Than again Keith Gillespie is playing for Longford Town these days:confused:
