Hey guys im selling my car which has no tax for the past few months. I havent been insured on the car so if i sell it will i get charged for the outdated tax or will the new owner take over?

A guy in my job said you can no longer claim the car was off the road, is this true? Cheers

Sell the car, send off the logbook (as the seller thats your job) and once it arrives the new owner is only liable for the road tax since (s)he bought it. Simples.

You are not liable in anyway.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Don't worry, Steve :)

It doesn't matter that you didn't have the car taxed as long as it wasn't on a public road. You don't have to pay any back taxes. The new owner has to pay motor tax from the first day of the month that he / she bought the car.

Edit - a nice guy beat me to it :)
