Violin Case Query / High Chin Rest Problem

    Hi,

I have recently replaced my violin chin rest which was a Guarneri style, with a Flesch centre mounted one in an attempt to improve my technique as my posture was all wrong. So far the new Flesch chin rest is very comfortable and seems to be making a big difference to my playing.

However... as the new chin rest is quite high and is centred over the tailpiece, my violin now won't fit in my case. It's a moulded SKB case, and I've had to remove the chin rest before putting my violin into the case. I don't fancy having to remove the chin rest every time I put the violin away, and then reassemble it before I play. I've checked online and I can't seem to find a large case with a high lid which would accommodate a high chin rest?

Has anyone come across this problem before?
