Sorry if there have been previous posts similar to mine but I've decided I'd like to start cycling. My plan is to cycle Dublin to Galway for charity in the near future and am investing in a new bicycle. I'm very much a beginner and wouldn't be the fittest person in the world, but am willing to work on this. I don't want to spend an outrageous fortune but want a sturdy model that will be good for building up to reasonably long distance.

Also I'd love any tips on building up fitness
