Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue with their renault laguna keycard.
Basically whats happening is, when i insert the keycard into the slot no lights come on the dash ignition isn't working only light that is working is the immobilizer and it's flashing constantly.
Worked fine before just happened no clue on why, any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

Probably should've posted that i've already tried that haha :D Sorry ^_^
Radio comes on so it's also not the car battery itself

As for it opening the doors, the fob itself has never opened the doors since i got it, have to take out key + do it manually but the fob only works the ignition for me worked like an hour ago for the past few months no issues but now all of a sudden nothing :/

does the spare key work? odd that there's nothing coming up, does it do anything when you try to start?

Don't have a spare key unfortunately just the one key :/

When i put in the key card, the clock and radio works but nothing else is happening other than them, pretty sure they work regardless of the key card though :o

try the age old trick of disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours, renault key cards are known to be temperamental at the best of times, otherwise it's a trip to renault to get it reprogrammed

Hi, i have been having problems with my key cards over the last year or so. Yes disconnecting the battery does work as i have done this in the past, but the main problem with the card seems to be the pcb board in the card. Possibly it could have been bent while in the pocket and has damaged the soldered joints. I have split open the card with a razor blade and re soldered using a fine iron tip. If the central locking has failed it could either be the buttons or the chip in the centre of the board, mine was completely off and since the soldering works fine. The internet has loads of people with the same problem so we are not alone...

where the battery connects to the pcb solder joints can break causing remote central locking not to work also micro switchs can break off causing lock or unlock of sometimes both not to work. however the transponder chip rarely ever breaks off and in fact the only cure is a new card. it is possible however to solder on a new pcf7946at chip to the board but special equipment is required such as a hot air reworkstation and you'd have to be good a soldering etc. non start with immo light flashing can be caused by a faulty card, card reader, steering lock assembly, uch, cultch/brake switch in some models or a wiring issue between these components. the most common issue is the key card.

220 in the dealer i know someone who can do them for 180. no waiting 10 days for the dealer to order them in etc. you just need to have your log book and licence. pm me for his contact details.

Found a kind of odd fix for my issue,
Was on my phone to Renault the next morning and he told me to grab each side of the key card and just slightly bend it backwards and forwards, seems to have done the trick so i'll just wait and see if it's permanent fix or just a temporary one.
    Thanks for the replies though.
