You dont really have much hope honestly I am afraid to say.

From what I know they look for Pilots with 100's well perhaps 1,000's of hours on all Helicopter types that have flown in all weather conditions so they mainly go after ex-Military Crews, you will find alot of the IRCG Crowd be it a pilot/winchman/winch op/Paramedic will all at some stage have been in the IAC/RAF/RN.

Your best bet is to join the Air Corps.

    + 1.

Either military trained or thousands of flight hours in all conditions in medium lift aircraft. Most of CHC Shannon, Waterford and Dublin are ex RAF/IAC......with the exception of both Waterford and Shannons chief pilots.

    Hi Lads,

I am not sure this the right place to ask this question but since sar is part of my question i will.It may seam like a stupid question but how did the IRCG s61's get to Ireland? would they have being orginally shipped to europe by boat/plane? or where they assembled in europe from scratch and then flown here from else where in europe?

Flown here from elsewhere in Europe. It's not unusual for them to fly to Norway for their "C" check. There is a rumour going about when it's their time to move on they will be flown in pairs back to the USA, but that could all change.
