Pale and pasty without makeup

Just wondering does anyone have any tips for going without makeup? I find that without my usual camouflage of foundation, powder, and blusher I obviously look very very pale! This is to the extent that recently someone asked me was I sick, while someone else asked me was I not going to take the white stuff off my face before I put on my makeup??!. Anyone have any tips for brightening up their complexion and looking a little more normal without makeup?? Thanks.

I used to get this all the time!
    Im ridiculously pale!

If you really look after your skin (inside and out!) then you'll have a glow that will take away from the paleness.

lots of water! and vitamin c is great for brightening your complexion, both taken orally and applied to the skin.
exfoliation will also get rid of dead skin cells and leave you with fresh, clear skin- i use a microfibre cloth some days and a face mask once a week.
and then a good moisturiser and proper sun protection.

it also helps if you dont have bags under your eyes, (obviously!) so maybe a tiny bit of concealer on days that you look a bit tired.

i find that getting eyebrows and lashes tinted makes my eyes stand out more so i look less tired when i am make up free. if you have dark ones already then your lucky you dont need to but it really makes all the difference!

you could also try a fake tan specifically for the face but i prefer pale to fake tan!

Possibly the greatest product out there. I'm quite pale without makeup, but a little bit of flash balm and mascara makes it an acceptable sort of pale!

People are probably just so used to seeing you in makeup that you look pale to them without it. Outside of that just exfoliate and moisturise (maybe with a tinted moisturiser if you're not ready to go bare yet!).

Tinted moisturiser is great to take the "milk bottle" look out of the face, very subtle but effective and they are not heavy like foundation (which can only be good in the recent hot weather!). Olay do quite a wide range as far as I am aware, as do quite a few skin care companies (both expensive and lower priced) so def worth a try!

No harm really to go without makeup more often so people get used to what you're actually like without the stuff. As magicmarker says, pale is good!

Bit of contouring with bronzer - 30 secs
Curl lashes - while at traffic lights
Lipstick neutral colour like mac angel - rub into lips and dab on apple of cheek at next traffic light

Simle and you don`t look scary (except to the people who see you at traffic lights!:D)

OP I used to have the pale thing before I decided to "train" myself out of wearing makeup all the time, I'm quite pale and always have to wear the palest tints of foundation :)
Give it a week or two of no makeup and you and everyone else will be used to it, trust me.
Your skin will probably be better off as well.

By the way, are you wearing the correct tone of foundation? Not too dark for your skin?
