Proper Photos of a White Deer

So, it was bothering me that I only got the bad photos of the white deer.
So packed the bag early doors with the digital slr in it for a locate and shoot exercise. (with camera not bang stick;))

Took a few hours of wandering to locate the first deer, a nice stag grazing on his own.

Then another hour or so later came across a herd, some grazing and some lazing in the sun. Quite a few of them too. Then as they made off I seen them head towards another smaller herd which contained what I was after :D

As you can see its a totally white one. It did seem a bit slower than the other deer when the stag called and they headed for the forest cover. Not sure if it maybe is old or weak, but seemed to struggle a bit.

On the way back to the car came across another smaller herd but no stag in sight with these.

Great walk with loads of deer.:D

Got about 15 shots of the white deer, so task completed!

As it seems completely white, even around the Eyes I would be reasonably confident that it is Albino.

Albino's are rare enough, but can occur in almost all animal species.
Every other year you'd see a calf in the Farmers Journal etc.

Some times Albino's have other weaknesses (poor eye sight, hearing etc)

Sounds great where do I shoot it  only joking, it's such nice looking animal indeed, not sure if I would shoot it might be a bad omen if you did :D:cool: if it bred do you think it would pass on the albino in it?

I have a relative who's sister in law and brother are albino. But no other members of the family are, but they are very blonde

the quote below is about gecko's when someone asked if they would be albino.
you have a 99% chance of the gecko coming out naturally colored. The albino gene for all animals is recessive. That means that both the mother and father would have to have the recessive gene and it would be blind luck for the recessive gene to be passed on by both parents. Best way to have an albino gecko is to breed 2 albino geckos. It is still not 100% that the babies will be albinos.
as far as i remember from leaving cert biology its to do with having no melanin, which gives colour to the skin

either the poachers aren't very good or they're not putting a dent in deer numbers

    Thanks Savage,

Using Canon EOS 300D with a 75-300mm canon lense.

most shots taken from about 150m to 200m.

cropped some of the shots down for what looks like the close ups.
