there was a thread on it last year.
2009 seems to have had problems, but 2010 was fine.

Yeah it was spot on last year. They use the National 10k course so its tough enough. Depth of field is poor and of course theres no women in lycra to look at but if you're just looking for a 10k run its decent enough.

anyone on here doing it? I signed up for it.

I can't understand why more people aren't going for it. It's chipped and on the exact same course as the National 10k Championships/Spar Great Ireland Run but instead of 8000 people running it, there are currently 222 (it's odd that they actually show the names of everyone signed up for it here http://eur.katana3.com/online/event.ctrl?cmd=startList&event=1315842482).

So there will be no crowds getting in your way, room to run, no problems parking.

I assume it's probably cheaper too, how much was the Spar Run? This one is 22 bills.

Is it that men can't bring themselves to run something with a title like "mini-marathon"?

I'd love to do it but a 20 miler on Sunday may affect my shot at a pb ;)

I wouldn't run a Mini Marathon, however, I'd consider running a Marathon in a Mini:)

Are 'mini' marathons only for small people?

    1st 10K race done!

Really enjoyed this - the great weather and great course helped but also seemed to be well organised and was a very good atmosphere.

Thanks to all involved and hopefully lots of money raised.

I have a worrying feeling that I may have developed a new expensive weekend habit!!

Really enjoyed this race. It's a tough course, easy first half followed by a tough second half, the same as the Great Ireland Run.

Nice sunny morning, good atmosphere, well organised, decent turnout. Not sure if a few people got lost but one guy ahead of me didn't go down the Furry Glen he went straight on up the main road even though the road was blocked by traffic cones.

I would rate this well ahead of the GIR which I think has got way to big for the Park, it would be attractive race no log jams or overcrowding. It would be nice to see this race become a success as it's for a good cause and all the proceeds go to charity.

    +1^.
A couple of guys ahead of me made the same mistake - they were too far behind the lead car to see it, and too far ahead for me to shout. Pity, I could have done with someone ahead coming out of the Glen...

This was my first 10k since the Port Tunnel fun run. It was a lovely day for the run. I enjoyed the course though the hill after 5k was a bit steep. I managed pretty well. Turnout was good, there were always people around on the run but it was in now way crowded.

Snap! First 10k since the Port Tunnel run too...and a hell of a lot less crowded! Really enjoyed it. Tough enough course but snuck a PB so happy out. Definitely one to do again next year. But I reckon if they ditched the "mini-marathon" title they'd get a hell of a lot more entrants!

Interesting that I didn't see many (any?) club runners there. I think I saw one Raheny vest?

Are there any photos from this race. I saw a camera at the line, but nothing up on the ARC website as far as I can see.
