Coffee shop near Barrow St, Dublin 4?

Hey all...

I have to go down to Dublin to take a test on Thursday, and it's in Barrow Street, Dublin 4. I don't really know that area of Dublin at all, and I'm also taking the train down instead of driving (long story) so I don't want to end up miles away from Barrow Street before the test as I don't want to get stressed out or be late. I tried looking on Google Maps to no avail.

I get into Connolly St. Station at 10AM, and have to be in Barrow Street around midday, so have a solid couple of hours to kill, and would like to go somewhere quiet where I can get a coffee, read and do some last minute revision!

I don't really know the DART too well, but there seem to only be trains once every half hour to Grand Canal, which is the nearest station to Barrow St. However, if there was somewhere big/quiet near a DART station that might be a good call.

Thanks a lot for any advice for a non-Dublin native!

As you come out of GCD station Google is forward and to the left.
To the left of that again is Eurospar, which has an Insomnia inside with a few tall seats.

About 100 yards up Barrow st. again from that is a small coffee shop ( at least there used to be, and if you want even more then walk over to Grand Canal dock) and if you want a nice breakfast walk round to Bath Avenue to Juniors cafe ( 5 mins ).

I wouldn't go anywhere else in Dublin for a coffee and a sit-down other than 3fE at the Twisted Pepper Building
54 Middle Abbey Street.

Thanks a lot guys, absolutely spot on. If I have a bit of extra time I'll seek out 3fE, if it's a rush job I'll stick to Barrow St.

If you head one street up/west from Barrow street - Grand Canal Quay - at the intersection with Pearse street there's the great bakery Il Valentino, who do a decent espresso, or The Art of Coffee beside the barbers at the base of the tall/slender glass Altro Vetro building beside the bridge - they use Coffee Angel beans and know what they're doing. Either are a better bet than Insomnia, and only a couple of minutes away.
