Apply for Jobseeker Benefit during JA appeal

    Hi

    question:

A person has been refused Jobseeker allowance in February (appication in December 2010) and now she is under appeal. The waiting list is very long.

The Jobseeker benefit was not considered as in the relevant year (2008} she had not enough PRSI. Anyway if she applies now she has the PRSI requirement for the relevant year 2009.

She has been refused supplementary welfare allowance and rent supplement as the cohabiting partner is slightly over 340 euro for week (1 baby).

Can she apply for JB if she is under appeal for JA as it could be that the waiting time for JB is shorter then appeal?

She can apply all right but usually it's only for an Illness claim appeal.
